This wonderful table was manufactured by A.H. Stock Manufacturing Corp. of Newton, Wisconsin, and is called the “Grand Server”. The title hits it on the head. Say you are throwing a dinner party and you need to spice things up. All you do is walk over, slide the top back and crack open your favorite spirits and presto instant party maker! Melody and I purchased this off of Craigslist awhile ago. We really love its kidney shape and the ultra comic white fabric that wraps around it. This table even has a hidden compartment to hide some other party makers.

I need to update that page with other items. I’m still trying to get accustomed to blogging and that page is giving me some trouble. I’m a newbie blogger so bear with me :). Awesome table, they are a great conversation piece. I have the same one with a wood grain, I got it on locally e-bay about 10 years ago.
That TV and BBQ grill are fantastic as well!

Thanks for the info. It is beautiful! I am looking to purchase one, so I am trying to figure out all the color combos it comes in. So far I have seen walnut top/walnut sides, walnut top/gold sides, black top/white sides and white top/walnut sides. Do you know if that is it?

Do you know how much Vickie is asking for her Grand Server? I live in Wisconsin, so that might be super expensive to ship it here. I am looking at one closer to home that I could get for $475, do you think that is a good deal? The one I am looking at is missing the key for the locking door (and the door is locked). Do you know if you can get a key made for this and approx. what it would cost, or if you could replace the entire locking mechanism and what that would cost?

Hi Shannon, $475 is a good price. It goes for higher here in California. You’ll have to get a locksmith to re-key the door. I’ve only had vending machines re-keyed and that runs about $100-$150.

I have a walnut/walnut version of this table. It has been passed down through the family. It has needed some repair (the original casters broke off and we put on new ones -plus an additional for support). Also the gold leaf on the poles (?) needs work. I would love to sell it and am not sure how. It seems a sin to let it sit in the basement when someone could be showcasing it! Any recommendations on how to go about this? How much I should ask?

I agree, items like this are ment to be enjoyed and not stored away. I would post it on Craigslist. As far as an asking price they are not that common. I would offer it for somewhere between $250-$300, but that all depends on condition.

I just recently scored one of these from an estate sale. Walnut version. Perfect condition – no scuffs, scrapes, chips, rope and wheels all there and perfect, etc. Even has the key! Got it for $150 – fastest I’ve ever paid for an item before they had a chance to change their mind or come to their senses! Not selling – new centerpiece of my family room.

Hi. — I feel pretty lucky that I got this table at my local SPCA thrift store. The only problem is that 2 of the legs were missing. Boooo. Who does that? I was wondering if you had any suggestions on where I might be able to replace them? I live in Reno– and I have a huge mid century ranch that I am doing my best to take back to it’s glory days. I am the only poor person to EVER live in this monster house. There are some really amazing features to it. It has been fun (and challenging) to bring it all the way back… I hope to have it done by the time I go live in the clouds for real. Here in Reno, gosh, telling someone you have a mid century home will get you a “deer in the headlight” look most the time. If it doesn’t have poop on it in Nevada, the value must be low? In some ways– that is great because I can get amazing things for next to nothing– but getting parts? Not so much.
I also feel pretty lucky to have found this site. I am one of the worst internet user that lives here on earth. I can barely open my email most the time. I appreciate all the help you can give me. Sue

I recently purchased an original white and gold Grand Server at an estate sale in Manhattan, KS. Got a great deal on it, but it needs some restoration (e.g., new key, new pole, new rope trim, cleaning/restoration of surfaces). Know of any antique-restoration companies that specialize in restoring mid-century modern furniture, or know of any sources to consult when trying to restore a piece like this oneself? (For example, I’d hate to damage the surfaces when merely trying to clean them.) Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated by this newbie mid-century-mod collector!

If you still need a key: Grethel with Gre-Stuff (http://www.grestuff.com) was kind enough to have her original key duplicated at her local Home Depot and then mailed to me. The copy worked like a charm in my white/gold Grand Server locking mechanism, which is dated 1968. So I suspect that at least for Grand Servers made during that time period, the keys/mechanisms were mass-produced and are interchangeable and not particular to each Grand Server. Anyway, I’d be happy to pay Grethel’s kindness forward, and to duplicate my key-copy and mail it to you to try out, if you still need a key.

Tamara, what is the date stamped on the metal locking mechanism on the inside of the Grand Server? If it’s 1968 like mine, then a duplicate of my key might work for you. –Aaron

I have an original floor model Grand Server that my mom bought in ’64 at the World’s Fair for $ 350.00, so it’s one of the 1st ones. It’s the mahogany finish. It’s missing the key. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, just let me know the cost, assuming all keys are universal. This one is from 1964…………….Thanks !

Do you mean it has an interior light? I just met a guy who has such a Grand Server. I suspect it’s an after-market addition, thought, because what vintage advertisements I’ve seen never mention any lighting/electrical aspects.

I realize this is an old thread, but hoping someone sees this and can help. I have a 60’s Grand Server with lift-out tray table – not the boomerang table but triangular in shape. All intact except the KEY. Inspecting the lock from the inside it is simply stamped “Yale made in U.S.A.”
Would anyone happen to have a key I could pay to get a copy of that you think might work?

I took my lock out of mine and took it to a locksmith and they made me a key. Hope that helps.

No lights the rods that guide the server tray are threaded not smooth with a drive unit in the bottom to turn the threaded rods which would raise and lower the server tray. My dad got it at a auction at the A.H.Stock house I think in the seventies I remember hearing that they had to remove part of the electrical because of liability, I am thinking possibly his health failed Pryor to getting a patten.
