Monsanto Chemical Companies "Home of the Future" at Disneyland (1957-1967)

This home was an exhibit at Disneyland from 1957-1967. This house was made of 99.97% of artificial materials. It was cutting edge for its time. Plastics were a new thing and revolutionized and modified building materials that were available.
Ok, I have an excuse as to why I don’t have one of these….I wasn’t alive yet. For all of those of you who were alive during that time I want to know why you didn’t buy one of these!?

I can SO see you and Melody living in this house! GREAT info & such a fun look at the “past future”. One funny little thing I remember is thinking, “Wow! A machine that would wash dishes!” And I think only a few years later we had one! Up to that point the most modern thing we had was a garbage disposer and I think my mom was the envy of all the neighborhood ladies. Good stuff kiddo. Thanks!

I wish. I would live in that place till the day I died and then I would have them bury me in it and build another one on top on my grave. I love this home!
