Well I am getting into the restoration of these two cabinets and here is how it looks so far.
1940’s small Hoosier:
This cabinet is going to require a lot of work. The lower cabinet on the left side is warped really bad. This is going to require either replacement of the panel or attempts to salvage what is there. Either the cabinet suffered water damage causing the wood to warp or an altitude change may have affected the surfaces or both! The rest of the cabinet looks solid and will require the usual resto including sanding, primer and paint.
1950’s metal kitchen cabinet:
The cabinet is pretty much complete. I only have to cut some wood to make the cutting board. I’m happy with the final piece.

- Used pipe clamps to pull seams back together

- Glue has dried and seems are tight now time for sanding
- Drawer is fully painted and drying. Will start reassembly tomorrow

- Another piece for 50’s furniture saved from the scrap heap. Preserving history one piece at a time :).
- This will be a great place to store Mel’s Franciscan Starburst china. Yay for Mel!

- Cabinet is dry and assembled. It even doubles as a stand for the restored swamp cooler.
One I get the small hoosier in the condition where paint is next I will let you know.
