Vintage Fiberglass Boats

OMG! It's pink too!

I have wanted one of these style boats for a long time. When I was growing up my dad always seemed to have a boat and would take us out on it a lot during the summer. I know a lot of people think a boat is just a hole in the water you throw money into, and that can be the case, but it also can be a place to experience things you might never had if you didn’t have a boat. As I usually say the things from this era have real eye appeal. The design is unique and you feel good when you are in one of these beauty’s. Some of these designs mirror car design from the time and some look like they are right out of the Jetson’s! Here are some photos of a few I came across. The people who restored these deserve a big round of applause!

Fins again!

This is pretty tame compared to the others but it still looks great!

This looks like a car without wheels....CRAZY MAN!

All boats should have fins!

They make a good couple

I WANT THIS BOAT!...............sigh........

5...4....3....2....1....BLAST OFF!

This is what it is about! On the lake with the family flying through the water.

If you really like the pink one like I do here is a clip on its restoration from nothing to something!

  1. Decisions, decisions! Which to choose??? I LOVE the pink (of course) but I think I really must have the orange & white Chevy set. Yep, I’ll take that one :- ) I used to love boating on the Sac Delta but the last few times I was out it was so darn over crowded & not so fun anymore. A peaceful lake on a houseboat might be more my “speed” these days ;- ) Great finds Hepcat. BTW – hope you & Mz. Kitty made some great finds yesterday too! I know I sure did in the form of two GORGEOUS lamps that were show-stoppers for the rest of the day. I don’t think they’re going to sit there long! They better go soon or I fear they may end up at home! I’m SO in love with them! Awesome!

I’m glad that you enjoy the lamps! I don’t foresee them staying long in you booth either :). The rattan furniture is cleaning up nicely and I hope to have it ready soon.

Yeah, the river gets over-packed during holiday’s such as 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day. I don’t go out on the water anymore either. However, that would change if I had one of these awesome boats.

      • Cannot wait to see the rattan when it’s all done! Hope it wasn’t TOO cruddy! Oh dear. You’re getting new covers for them? I just know they’re going to look gorgeous in your home.

I managed to clean up the frames of the chairs and I washed the covers and they actually look good. I am dropping one of the covers of to my upholstery guy to fix the zipper. I will have to get the ottoman cushion recovered with fabric that complements the current upholstery. Once it is done I will post images of them. Thanks Vic!

  2. Wow, you did some work! It had been sitting around here for some time & who knows what attention (or lack of) it got from the party before me. And, you’re keeping the fabric! Well, I know it will somehow look smashing in your place. Forget pics – I’m coming out to see the whole set-up! Mel said I could :- P

I know the fabric seemed more along the 80’s but it all depends on how you stage it. The cushions are really nice. I would love for goose and you to come out and see it when I am done.
