1951 Continental Art Company Statue Restoration

IMG_4789

Mel and I purchased this awhile back from Ebay and as is the norm it arrived damaged. Fortunately I was able to repair it and it turned out great!

As you can see the only damage suffered was to the base. I had never seen a statue made by Continental art Company, usually they make lamps.

I love the way it turned out! After the usual repair process and paint it looks great. I even took some liberties with its detail work.

I bet they made a male counterpart so I guess I will have to keep my eyes peeled for him.

  3. You guys are lucky, I purchased this same statue a few years back on ebay except it was a lamp. The colors on it were so amazing. I recieved it with the entire base broken in pieces and you would not beleive how poorly it was packed. I’ve kept it all these years in the hopes someday to get ti completely restored. I love the Continental Art Company, such amazing stuff!

    • Hey Mike,
Thanks for your comment. I love Continental too and Reglor. I am such a fan of all their figural lamps. I wasn’t even aware that continental made just statues, I guess you learn something new all the time.
