A lot happened this past year, and it was definitely a roller coaster. For our year in review, we’d like to focus on some of the highlights and cover a few of the things we missed sharing with you.
Showroom @ Midway Antique Mall
We kicked off this year with a full revamp our our showroom at Midway Antique Mall. We painted the walls in our signature Hepcat color and added some really killer pieces (all furniture shown is already sold).
Our Home
The first half of the year was devoted to preparing for the Sacramento Mid Century Modern Home tour organized by SacMod. We made some updates to our home such as new VCT tile, outdoor lighting, pink Big Chill appliances, paint, windows, concrete walkways, custom shutters & vintage style door.

Our home was also in a few publications to help promote the tour, including a feature in Inside Publications, a shot of our tiki room in Land Park News, and an ad in Atomic Ranch (our flamingos & lounge chairs).

Photo Shoots
In addition to the promo pics for the tour, we had a few photo shoots in our home. Here are shots Shameless Photography did of our home.

Vintage Cars
We were fortunate this year to acquire a couple vintage cars; a 1955 Chevy Bel Air hardtop convertible, and a 1972 Ford F100 truck. Unfortunately, we had an electrical engine fire in our Chevy during its weekly start up in the garage. Thank goodness for Shane’s quick thinking. He was able to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to our home! The fire caused about $15K worth of damage to the car. Fortunately, we have good insurance and we were able to find a fantastic auto body repair guy named Robert Greer, who worked tirelessly to get our Chevy back on the road.

Here are a few things that we added to our collection.

What’s Next?
We have some exciting developments to look forward to including additional photo shoots, restorations, and of course expanding our collection. We were also contacted by Houzz TV because they’re interested in showcasing our home in an upcoming episode. So, stay tuned for the new year.
Happy New Year everyone!

What dinnerware do you use in your stagings? You should include Vernon Kilns’ “Tickled Pink” and “Heavenly Days.”

We actually use Tickled Pink. It’s also our everyday dinnerware. We’re looking for more mugs. If you know of anybody selling them, we need 4 more.
