Panton Era Tufted Leather Tulip Base Club Chairs

bdsa

Mel and I saw these chairs on eBay a couple of months back and we bought them. They were in Salem Oregon. We shot up there over one weekend and snagged them while we were up there picking up a couch, chair and ottoman set.

These had some condition issues when we got them. There were some cracks in the base that I had to fill and paint.

The fabric is in fantastic condition for its age. I assume these were produced sometime in the 70’s.

I searched all over these pieces and could not find any makers mark. These are made of thick, hard plastic not fiberglass.

The cushions attach to the plastic shell with buttons.

I think it looks great next to our space age lamp/shelf and that large Letterman.

On to the next post!

1972 Cal Style Furniture Mfg. Dinette Set

1972

Mel and I found this set on Facebook. It is unapologetically chartreuse/lime green.

It is so Brady Bunch and is such a flashback to 1972!

This set is in remarkable condition. The upholstery has just a couple flea bites.

I think this set is green gold!

The seats are comfortable and I love the button upholstery.

The backs of the chairs really pop with the button accents on the back.

The top is formica with a chopping block pattern. This set came with two leaves as well.

As you can see, it was produced back on March 21, 1972. Also, on that day back in 72′ folks in the US were listening to the chart topper “A Horse With No Name” by America

All the chairs still have their age. It appears someone loved this set very much.

They took such good care of it and it shows.

IMG_7261This set needs some detail cleaning work and it should be good to go!
