Vintage Double Sided Infinity Pendant Light

When Mel and I moved out of our San Jose pad we managed to keep quite a bit of our funky furnishings. We purchased this light a few months back and had never seen anything like it. I do recall seeing infinity wall mirrors when I was younger, but never a light like this.

We found this set on eBay up in Kentucky and knew it would be a great addition to our vintage listening room.

These take simple Christmas tree lights. We have to replace 2 or 3 of them that have burnt out.

We had an electrician out today to replace a generic ceiling light with this pendant light. They also had to move the location of the light so that it was centered in the sitting area.

This pendant light is for ambiance more than functionality.

I am not sure when these were made, but I think they were made in the late 60’s or early 70’s.

Time to put on some Neil Young and zone out.

Space Age Table Lamp

Mel and I came across this lamp on eBay and thought it would look great with our larger version lamp that I restored sometime ago.

Believe it or not, the seller on eBay was actually able to ship this large lamp using Greyhound Bus lines.

This lamp has a cool speckle black and white finish. I had to repaint the base but overall it’s in great shape.

The ball light throws a really soft, bright light.

We would like to find the hanging version of this style light.

This will look great next to our soon to be refinished Chromecraft couch set.

The switch is at the top of the lamp.

Pair Of Large Lava Glaze Lamps With Original Shades

As you may already know, Mel and I are lamp junkies. So, it should be no surprise that we would decorate with numerous lamps. I have always loved this kind of finish on lamps. Some folks call this type of finish volcano, lava or drip glaze. Whatever they call it, I love it.

As usual, I was cruising Craigslist and saw that these were being sold at a shop in Paradise, California. The ad only showed one of these lamps, so I was pleasantly surprised to see two of them!

These lamps are breathtaking in person. I love the shots of cobalt and chartreuse.

I am especially fond of these style lamps because of the secondary lighting behind the cutouts. As with most lamps of this period with this sort of finish, there is crazing.

This set came with the original lampshades that are in fantastic condition. The fabric ring they placed around the shades matches the fabric shade inside the body of the lamp.

These will definitely be conversation pieces.

Here is another set we picked up in Chico last weekend. These are made of heavy plaster unlike the ones above that are made of ceramic.

This set also has secondary lighting inside the main body of the lamps. I need to replace the bulbs inside and it appears it isn’t as easy as just replacing a bulb.
