1969 Original Old Town Light Box

1969 Original Old Town Light Box

For all those who love the psychedelic this is right up or down your alley! I visited the antique store in San Francisco named “Stuff”. I had almost made it through the store without finding anything until I saw this flickering on a shelf behind some collectibles.

I had never seen a wall hanging like this and knew it would look fantastic in our 70’s pad. This reminded me of those psychedelic acid trip movies from the late 60’s made by Timothy Leary.

Upon further examination I discovered it had its original box(not in the best shape), extra slides with sleeves and the lighted frame.

It appears you could order many slides to zone out to. The unit we picked up came with “Win the race Edward (Galloping horses, man with gun)“, “Budweiser Horses” & “The Great “King” On-A-Lite“.

The lighted box is made of really thin plastic and is kind of fragile. I tried to find more info on this set but nothing came up. That didn’t surprise me considering how delicate this piece is. I wouldn’t be surprised if not many survived. Taking the white screen off reveals these Christmas like lights.

When plugged in they randomly come on and off and change speeds and order of lighting.

Here is the unit all together and lit up. It’s kind of hard to see.

Below you will find a really short video that does an ok job at showing what this little thing does.

This will be a great addition to our groovy pad. We look forward to finding other treasures as cool as this one!
