These model roasters were made between 1949 to 1953. Mel and I purchased ours off of Craigslist and it wasn’t in too bad of shape. The stand the roaster sits on had rust on the bottom outside edge and a few dents. I went to work on it right away sanding and pounding the dents out and in no time I had the bottom repainted in a “bisque” color to match the antique white of the roaster. When we purchased it there was no cord or dishes just the stand, roaster and the metal tray. I had wanted one of these for so long because I always thought the idea of cooking your whole dinner at the same time in one appliance was nifty. I found the cord at a thrift store and the replacement Westinghouse dishes we purchased off of Ebay. Mel and I still want to get all the accessories to this roaster like the griddle and the rotisserie so please let us know if you have a line on them. You see these roasters on Craigslist once in awhile so treat yourself and pick up one, they are a must for any kitchen!

I have one of these but without the stand. It was my mom’s for as long as I can remember (I think she probably couldn’t afford the deluxe model :- ). & we cooked the Thanksgiving turkey in it & still do – it’s a veritable work horse. I know you’re way too young to have seen it, but you would have LOVED the Monsanto Home of the Future in Disneyland’s (now gone) Tomorrowland. I saw it when it opened and was amazed at what the future would be! HAH! Little did I know! You should find it on the web – you’d enjoy it.

They are great! We just cooked a meatloaf dinner in ours. As far as the Monsanto Home of the Future in Disneyland I will see what I can dig up about it. When we plan for the future sometimes our expectations are high. If we went by what they thought we would be doing back in the 40’s & 50’s we would be driving flying cars.

Hey Aj,
I had the same problem. Your best bet is to just buy a new timing unit. They sell on eBay once in awhile, and are not real expensive.

Yea that’s what I kind of figured. I’m going to see if someone can machine a few. Mine was in pretty decent shape. Got it New Year’s Day. Came with the grates, griddle (unused) and glass panel intact
